One of my favorite people to hike with is my younger sister Lorianne. She’s always up for challenge, low maintenance, and honesty she’s pretty hard core. Last summer my dad and her traveled to the other side of the world, Japan, for a couple weeks. It had always been her dream to visit and she absolutely loved it. Of course, she couldn’t go all the way to Japan and not hike one of the most famous mountains in the world, Mt. Fuji. She hiked the mountain successfully and returned to Orlando with some amazing experiences in her quiver.
Sitting on the balcony drinking Welches Sparking Grape Juice (my drink of choice, don’t judge), watching the waves roll onto the beach, resting after a long bike ride through trails lined with tall pines…sounds like paradise! Our recent trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, for our first anniversary exceeded expectations.
One of the biggest reasons I started this blog was to share budget travel tips and options. Both Eric and I work full-time jobs in ministry. Between our monthly expenses, saving for a home, and other miscellaneous (sometimes unexpected) costs, there is not always a lot of money leftover for travel.
“There has been a murder in Savannah…I do declare!” Sorry, The Office quote…couldn’t resist.
Savannah, Georgia! A place that has been on our list of places to visit for a while and we finally made it for our 1 year anniversary. We were just passing through, on our way to Hilton Head Island, but it was wonderful to walk around and explore the city.
Welcome to Of Trails and Thunderstorms, I'm glad you're here! My name is Sadie and I reside in Orlando, the City Beautiful, with my husband Eric. Here's to embracing adventure while cherishing home.
Yes, it's possible.
